What employment posters/information am I required to hang in my office? Do I have to pay for them?

A number of employment/employer posters are required through a variety of sources, and although you may obtain them for free through the various sites and have them printed yourself, many of our doctors find it easier to just get them from your local big box office store.  Print this page as a checklist for you to add to your compliance manual, with hypertext links for easy access to the downloads.  All doctors are required to display information from the following sources:

US Department of Labor
☐ Employee Rights Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA/Min Wage)
☐ Employee Rights for Workers with Disabilities Paid at Special Minimum Wages (FLSA Section 14(c))
☐ Job Safety and Health: It's the Law (OSHA)

☐ Employee Rights and Responsibilities Under The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
☐ Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law (EEO)
☐ Employee Polygraph Protection Act Notice (EPPA)
☐ Your Rights Under USERRA
☐ Pay Day Notice

☐ Veterans/Uniformed Services Employment

☐ Pay Transparency Nondiscrimination Provision

Illinois Department of Labor

☐ Your Rights Under Illinois Employment Laws (Min Wage)
☐ Pregnancy Rights Notice

☐ Victims' Economic Security and Safety Act (This posting is included in the Illinois "Your Rights Under..." poster above)

Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission

☐ Workers' Compensation Information

Illinois Department of Employment Security

☐ Unemployment Insurance Benefits Notice

Illinois Department of Public Health

☐ Emergency Care for Choking
☐ Toxic Substance Disclosure

Illinois Department of Public Health

☐ Smoke Free Illinois Act

City of Chicago Labor

Minimum Wage Ordinance

☐ Sick Leave Ordinance

Cook County Labor*

☐ Minimum Wage Ordinance*

☐ Sick Leave Ordinance*

Bloodborne Pathogens (not required postings)

Various Posters Supplied by OSHA

Note: You may be required to display other posters depending on your particular practice (e.g. CLIA, OSHA, city specific).

* Please check your specific city, as 100 or more municipalities have opted out of the Cook County minimum wage law via home rule.

Thank you, Dr. Peters. You are absolutely correct, that particular poster is not required for non-public sector employers. We have removed it from the list. Additionally, we have added two posters (Pregnancy rights and Veterans Services) to the list above. Based on the information we have, we are confident this list is comprehensive. Thank you again.

I noticed that the poster for "Illinois Job Safety & Health" states "Required Posting for Public Sector Employers". This implies that it would only be applicable to government agencies, not private businesses. Also, the choking poster has moved to: http://dph.illinois.gov/sites/default/files/publications/chokingposter.pdf

Dr. Rice - Can you let us know what items are included on your poster that are not on the list? Also, did you find items above that are not on your poster? Thank you.

Thanks for this info. I get mine from Costco and I noticed it has a bit more than that. Is this list (above) complete and all-inclusive?
