ICS Code of Ethics

Does the Illinois Chiropractic Society have a Code of Ethics?

At the October 2014 meeting of the Illinois Chiropractic Society Board of Directors, the ICS adopted a new Code of Ethics for chiropractic physicians in Illinois. After a presentation by the Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee Chairman, Dr. David Flatt, the ICS Board unanimously approved the recommendation of the Committee.

The board believes strongly that the ICS’ responsibility to establish the standards of ethical and professional conduct is self-evident, and that the duty of self-regulation is inherent to professional parity, growth and acceptance.

“As we desire to adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct and patient advocacy, this published Code of Ethics will help define who we are and what we are about. By setting a standard for all to see, behaviors that fail to meet our ideals and standards will be easily recognized as falling outside our professional society’s expectations,”– Dr. Flatt in his report.
